Florence is preparing to experience a winter of light, emotion, and art. From December 7, 2025, to March 29, 2026, the Cattedrale dell’Immagine will inaugurate Frida Kahlo – Emotion Exhibition, an immersive exhibition produced by Crossmedia Group and dedicated to one of the most iconic figures in contemporary culture. The deconsecrated church of Santo Stefano al Ponte once again becomes the stage for a story that combines the past, historical architecture, and technological languages. An exhibition not to be missed.

An immersive journey into the soul of the artist

The exhibition offers the opportunity to enter the world of Frida Kahlo through an intense and unprecedented sensory experience. For about thirty-five minutes, the viewer is enveloped by vibrant colors, recurring symbols, and the atmospheres of Latin America, which spread across the architectural surfaces of the Immersive Room, transforming them into a living, pulsating environment. The visual narrative is intertwined with music and suggestions capable of evoking identity, resilience, and imagination, restoring all the complexity of the artist.

Mirror Room, Immersive Room, and Crypt: three chapters of a single story

The exhibition begins in the Mirror Room, a reflective space that multiplies perspectives and views, preparing visitors for the immersive experience that follows. The Immersive Room is the heart of the exhibition, where images and motifs from Frida’s paintings flow across the walls and come to life in a visual choreography that accompanies visitors through the different stages of the artist’s life and work. The visit continues in the Crypt, the educational and interactive area of the Cathedral of Images, where themes and symbols are explored in depth through multimedia content designed to engage audiences of all ages.

The VR Experience: a daydream

The most surprising part of the tour is the Frida Kahlo VR Experience, a virtual reality immersion that allows visitors to enter a dreamlike universe directly inspired by the artist’s poetics. Through the use of headsets, visitors traverse three-dimensional scenarios that amplify details and symbolism, making their relationship with Frida’s imagery even more personal.

Collaborations that enrich the experience

This exhibition continues the collaboration with Opera Laboratori, responsible for visitor services, and with the Sillabe publishing house in Livorno, which manages the dedicated bookshop. This joint effort consolidates the role of the Cattedrale dell’Immagine as a reference point for digital art in Italy and as a space capable of offering comprehensive, accessible, and always up-to-date cultural experiences.

Opening hours, tickets, and useful information

The exhibition is open from Monday to Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with last admission at 6:00 p.m., while on weekends it is open until 7:30 p.m., with last admission at 6:30 p.m. The exhibition will also remain open during the Christmas holidays, with some minor changes that will be communicated by the organizers. Tickets are available both at the physical ticket office and on the Vivaticket platform, with different types including full price, reduced price, family packages, and offers for groups and schools.

Florence embraces digital art

The Cattedrale dell’Immagine continues to confirm its status as one of the most innovative venues on the Florentine cultural scene. Frida Kahlo – Emotion Exhibition represents a new chapter in its programming, capable of speaking to both local and international audiences. Frida is a universal icon, a language that unites different generations and sensibilities; bringing her to the stage through an immersive experience means making her voice even more accessible and contemporary.

An invitation to cross the imagination

In a city that fills with lights, cozy atmospheres, and a desire for discovery during the winter, this exhibition becomes a privileged opportunity to be surprised by an emotional journey that intertwines art, history, and technology. Florence welcomes the universe of Frida Kahlo as an invitation to surrender to the beauty and power of her imagination, transforming a simple visit into a true journey through her inner world.
