Femme Fashion Food
The new international publishing platform that promotes female leadership in food
Women in the restaurant industry, between food and fashion, are finally entering a new, contemporary narrative free from stereotypes.
Femme Fashion Food is the new publishing project conceived by Carla Botta, which shines a spotlight on female talent through an original and international perspective.
Conceived and directed by the journalist and communications professional—as well as founder of Carbot Communication—the platform is configured as a cross-sector editorial hub that intertwines gastronomy, fashion, and business culture.
The goal is clear: to promote the role of women who, often far from the media spotlight, contribute significantly to the construction of contemporary catering.
“Femme Fashion Food was born from a dream,” says Carla Botta.
“I wanted a publication with content that truly represented me. The inspiration came from food, a sector that in recent years has proved to be extraordinarily rich in stories, visions, and business models.”
Beyond the male narrative
The project stems from a concrete observation: the restaurant industry continues to be dominated by men.
Michelin-starred chefs, big entrepreneurs, and iconic pizza makers dominate the media scene. Yet women play central roles in governance, strategic development, and operational management of businesses.
Their contribution is often invisible.
“Women in food are numerous and decisive,” emphasizes Botta.
“Chefs, pizza makers, entrepreneurs, managers: professionals who lead teams, define strategies, and oversee organizational processes, even in complex and high-profile situations. Behind every great dish there is a business—and without a solid management model, no project can sustain itself over time.”
Femme Fashion Food therefore acts as an observatory and a space for in-depth analysis dedicated not only to the narrative dimension of food, but also to its entrepreneurial, managerial, and cultural components.
A global language
The name of the project reflects its transnational and multidisciplinary vocation:
- Femme recalls the European female identity
- Fashion evokes dialogue with the world of style, design, and the creative industry
- Food represents the operational scope of the project
The intent is to transcend national borders and build a global narrative that explores the intersection between fashion and catering.
Two seemingly distant universes, but united by common strategic assets:
- brand identity
- aesthetic design
- experience building
- culture of “beauty and goodness”
- ability to generate value through the fusion of creativity and management
The power of difference
The editorial line is based on a clear conviction: diversity is now a competitive lever.
“Today, originality wins,” says Carla Botta.
“We live in a context of strong uniformity. Success comes from the courage to differentiate oneself and assert a vision that is not aligned.”
Women in the food sector still face cultural barriers and role stereotypes, but they possess managerial skills, organizational abilities, and a systemic vision that are increasingly decisive for the future of the sector.
“The limitation is often cultural, not structural,” concludes Botta.
“Women demonstrate a natural aptitude for big-picture thinking and multitasking: strategic qualities in a complex sector such as catering.”
Femme Fashion Food was created to give voice, visibility, and perspective to a leadership that already exists—but that finally deserves to be told.
