“If it rises, it’s true love”: pizza becomes solidarity thanks to10 Italian pizzerias that have joined forces for a major charity initiative in support of research and treatment for Fondazione Serena Onlus – Centro Clinico NeMO
Excellence, taste, and solidarity. Pizza, a symbol of sharing and conviviality, becomes a concrete charitable tool with “If it rises, it’s true love,” the new project conceived, designed, and implemented by Carbot Communication, which involves 10 Italian pizzerias of excellence in a wide-ranging solidarity initiative.
The initiative, which will kick off on January 21 at I Caporale in Casalnuovo di Napoli, combines quality, creativity, and social commitment with a clear goal: to donate the entire proceeds from the evenings and solidarity sales to support the research and healthcare provided by the Fondazione Serena Onlus for the NeMO Clinical Center at the Azienda Ospedaliera Specialistica dei Colli – Ospedale Monaldi in Naples, the Policlinico Gemelli in Rome, and the Ospedale Niguarda in Milan.
Some of the most representative names in contemporary Italian pizza will be taking part, with dates already scheduled: the Caporale brothers in Casalnuovo di Napoli, Salvatore Santucci and Raffaele Bonetta in Naples, Antonio Tancredi in Casoria and Manuel Maiorano in Pistoia. Five more great evenings will be announced soon.
“If it rises, it’s true love. And when love is authentic, it becomes a concrete gesture,” says Manuel Maiorano. On January 29, La Fenice in Pistoia will open its doors for an evening born from a specific choice: to make a difference. A solidarity tasting menu, designed and created to support those who face a difficult battle every day.”
All proceeds will be donated to the NeMO Clinical Center.
Participating means sitting down at the table, but above all, taking a stand.
At the heart of the initiative is the NeMO Pizza “Lievitata d’Amore”, a solidarity creation that will be included on the menus of all participating pizzerias for one year, at a cost of €9. Each pizza maker will interpret their “Lievitata d’Amore” with different flavors and toppings, maintaining a common identity but enhancing their own stylistic signature. Each month, all proceeds from the NeMO Pizza will be donated to the Serena Foundation.
In addition to this, there will be charity tasting evenings, at a cost of €50 per person, with places reserved upon booking for each event. Again, all proceeds will be donated to charity.
The project consists of:
- 10 launch evenings, one in each pizzeria
- 10 closing evenings, again in the individual locations
- a large collective final event, which will bring together all the protagonists

“If it rises, it’s true love” is much more than a gastronomic project: it is a message that goes beyond food, it is a network of professionals who choose to use their work to do good, demonstrating that catering can be a vehicle for values, responsibility, and active participation. Since 2008, the NeMO Clinical Centers have been responding in a targeted manner to the clinical and care needs of adults and children living with neuromuscular and neurodegenerative diseases, such as ALS, SMA, and muscular dystrophies.
The project “If it rises, it’s true love” will contribute to supporting the following activities and services:
- review of the location and functionality of the telemetry system for more efficient and integrated monitoring;
- purchase of memory pulse oximeters, also designed to record vital signs;
- installation of additional monitors for measuring vital signs, with real-time data transfer to the infirmary;
- purchase of capnographs and polysomnography devices;
- introduction of 3D glasses for patient rehabilitation;
- structural interventions to ensure greater privacy in multi-person rooms;
- setup of an emergency center dedicated to the day hospital;
- strengthening of the NeMO Team for home care interventions;
- training activities dedicated to pediatrics.
This project reinforces the commitment of the NeMO Clinical Centers to ensuring increasingly qualified, innovative care that is tailored to people’s needs.
