From Pistoia to the rooftops of Florence, all the way to Identità Golose in Milan: Manuel Maiorano is conquering the world of contemporary pizza in Italy.
Following the success of the summer opening of the rooftop overlooking the rooftops of Florence at the Hotel Tornabuoni and the new “Butterfly Contemporary Pizza” menu, the golden era continues for Manuel Maiorano, one of the most influential figures in contemporary Italian pizza.
The Butterfly project, created for the panoramic terrace of the Florentine hotel, represents a new evolution of Maiorano’s gastronomic vision: a concept designed for an international audience, where contemporary pizza meets elegance, technical innovation, and gourmet influences.
An exclusive summer menu designed to highlight seasonal ingredients, high-hydration doughs, and creative pairings in a dynamic and refined setting, set against the backdrop of Florence’s historic city center.
Founder of La Fenice Pizzeria Contemporanea and Crunch Pizza di Strada, Maiorano will then take center stage on May 25 in Naples at two major events dedicated to the world of pizza and Italian culinary excellence: the first will be Tutto Pizza Expo, scheduled at the Mostra d’Oltremare, a landmark for the food & beverage sector and a showcase for new trends in Italian food and wine.
On the evening of May 25, Maiorano will also be among the featured guests at “The Masters of Pizza – Talent, Enterprise, and Tasting,” an exclusive event hosted by the Golden Tower Lifestyle Hotel in collaboration with Forbes Italia.
The Pistoia-based master pizzaiolo’s journey will then continue in Milan with a highly prestigious debut: for the first time, he will be a featured guest at Identità Golose Milano, the international conference dedicated to haute cuisine and signature dining, scheduled for June 7–9. Maiorano will speak on June 9 as a presenter during a morning live cooking demonstration in the Emerald 2 room, in collaboration with Acqua Panna and S.Pellegrino, as part of the theme “Identità Future – The Freedom to Think.”
The title of his lecture will be “The Freedom to Deconstruct Tradition”: a creative journey through technique, innovation, and culinary fusion, during which the master pizzaiolo will present some of his most innovative creations, including “Uramaki Fusion Pizza” and “Cornetto Salato”.
“Being part of such prestigious events in Naples and Milan is a great source of pride for me and, above all, an important opportunity to share the evolution of contemporary Italian pizza,” says Manuel Maiorano. “Today, pizza is a culinary language capable of engaging with different cultures, techniques, and ingredients without losing its own identity. The Butterfly project stems precisely from this idea: to create an experience that unites taste, aesthetics, and creative freedom in a unique setting like the rooftops of Florence.”
A new major recognition for Manuel Maiorano, increasingly an innovator and ambassador of a contemporary pizza capable of combining Italian identity, experimentation, and international gastronomic culture.
