Pieve di Campoli is inaugurating a new phase in its history with the opening of its corporate headquarters, a project that not only offers more space, but also marks a real change in perspective for the company.

Pieve di Campoli is the agricultural company of the Diocesan Institute for the Support of the Clergy of the Archdiocese of Florence (IDSC), founded in 1985 with the aim of bringing together the main real estate properties and agricultural lands of the Archdiocese of Florence under a single productive entity. Located in the heart of the Chianti Classico region, the estate covers hundreds of hectares, including about 50 hectares of vineyards divided into five areas characterized by unique microclimates, which fully express the richness and variety of the Chianti territory.

The wine production of Pieve di Campoli focuses mainly on Tuscan Sangiovese, alongside other traditional and international grape varieties such as Malvasia Bianca, Trebbiano, Canaiolo, Colorino, Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Pugnitello. The winery offers several prestigious labels, including Chianti Classico Pieve di Campoli DOCG, Chianti Classico Riserva, and Vin Santo del Chianti Classico Pieve di Campoli DOCG.

The production structure of Pieve di Campoli is divided into two main lines:

  • Pieve di Campoli, the winery’s historic and traditional line, an expression of the agricultural and winemaking continuity of the territory.
  • Cortine, created in 2019 with the aim of producing wines of excellence, deeply linked to the unique characteristics of the Chianti vineyards, particularly those located within the UGA (Additional Geographical Unit) of San Donato in Poggio.

Pieve di Campoli today represents a perfect combination of tradition, territory, and awareness, preserving and promoting the most genuine soul of Chianti Classico.

In San Donato in Poggio, in the heart of Chianti Classico, near the estate’s historic olive groves and vineyards, stands a modern and sustainable complex, powered by a photovoltaic system and designed according to a low-energy philosophy. This is perfectly in line with the company’s recent VIVA environmental certification. A place that looks to the future without betraying the agricultural vocation of the territory, which has always been at the heart of the history of Pieve di Campoli.

Here, the company finds a new home, capable of hosting and coordinating strategic and organizational activities. The beating heart of the new headquarters is the latest generation Mori-Tem oil mill, an agricultural, non-industrial plant designed to guarantee fast processing that respects raw materials and is of the highest quality. It is not just a new processing plant, but a modern infrastructure that raises the standards of the oil supply chain, capable of responding to the challenges of a sector that is increasingly attentive to quality and traceability.

An ambitious project that looks to the future, combining efficiency, sustainability, and innovation.

The project remains open to the local community

The real strength of this choice lies not only in technology: what makes the Pieve di Campoli oil mill unique is its desire to remain open to the local community. The tradition of hospitality continues and is strengthened: citizens, families, and small farmers will still be able to bring their olives, even in small quantities, to see them transformed into oil. Thanks to state-of-the-art equipment, the service will be more efficient and professional, but still rooted in its connection with the people and their history. It was a challenging choice, but one made with determination to reaffirm that the oil mill is not just a company asset, but a shared heritage.

“We didn’t think of an oil mill just for ourselves,” explains the president of the IDSC in Florence, Don Giuliano Landini, “but as a common good. For local families, being able to press their own olives means preserving an ancient ritual that has cultural as well as agricultural value. Ensuring the continuity of this service means remaining authentically close to the people and their history.”

A hub that renews agricultural identity

The new oil mill is part of a completely renovated facility, designed to optimize logistics, functionality, and storage. The structure, spread over three levels, brings together management and administrative functions, workspaces for staff, packaging areas, and processing areas in one place. At the base are air-conditioned warehouses for storing the finest wines, designed to ensure optimal conditions and constant quality control. At the heart of the building is the oil mill with the oil area, while the upper floors house offices and meeting rooms, making the headquarters a reference point for operations and management.

Sustainability is an integral part of the project: the photovoltaic roof ensures energy independence and reduces environmental impact, while the large outdoor parking lot allows easy access even for heavy vehicles, making the entire infrastructure functional for all the needs of the supply chain. The technological heart of the complex is represented by the latest generation of machinery, capable of managing the crushing phases with extreme precision and speed, so as to preserve the organoleptic characteristics of the olives as much as possible and increase the quality yield of the oil.

In addition to production, the new headquarters has also been designed as a place for meeting and storytelling. The farm shop will offer products from Pieve di Campoli alongside those from other farms that are part of the Diocesan Institutes for the Support of the Clergy and the Nostra Madre Terra agricultural network, creating a collective showcase of agricultural excellence. In addition, there is a professional tasting room for journalists, operators, and technicians, which enriches the experience with a technical and communicative approach rather than a touristic one, complementing the agritourism activities of Cortine.

A space where oil and wine can be presented with the depth and seriousness they deserve, reaffirming the company’s desire to be not only a producer but also a promoter of a conscious and shared agricultural culture.
