FaroAlto S.p.A., a leading company in the Italian restaurant and high-quality confectionery production sector, announces the start of its collaboration with Romualdo Rizzuti, one of the most authoritative and recognized interpreters of contemporary Italian Neapolitan pizza. The agreement marks a strategic moment in the group’s growth, which in recent years has invested in the relaunch of historic venues, the enhancement of iconic brands, and the creation of innovative formats in the Food & Beverage sector.

The new project, “Bigè – Signature Pizza”, is rooted in the gastronomic vision of Rizzuti, renowned for his ability to interpret tradition and elevate pizza to a creative and contemporary language, combining technique, identity, and research into raw ingredients. In Siena, in the heart of Piazza del Campo, one of Italy’s most famous squares, two new ventures will come to life: Bigè – Signature Pizza at number 60, with signature pizzas and a selection of dishes inspired by Italian tradition, reinterpreted with a modern style; and Bigè – Street Pizza at number 38, dedicated to a more informal and immediate offering, with “pocket” pizzas, specialties to eat on the go, takeaway, and delivery.

In addition to timeless classics such as the Regina Margherita with San Marzano DOP tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella DOP, and basil, and iconic creations such as L’Oro di Napoli, the famous stuffed fried pizza, Bigè‘s winter menu also offers a selection of signature pizzas that reflect the creative vision of Romualdo Rizzuti, including La mia Napoli, La Capricciosa di Leonardo, Gateau di patate, Gamberi, lardo e tartufo, and Napoli Siena, with references to the traditions of Campania and Tuscany.

Alongside the pizzas, there is also a selection dedicated to panuozzi, stuffed with excellent ingredients—such as porchetta with onion absolute, smoked buffalo mozzarella and Calabrian spianata, San Daniele ham and Parmigiano Reggiano, and even a version with roast ham and truffle—designed to be paired with cocktails and enjoyed in a more informal setting.

This is the context in which “Bigè – Signature Pizza” was born, with a concept that speaks in a pop yet refined language, capable of appealing to gourmet pizza lovers and a wider audience. The aim is to offer a dynamic and contemporary experience, while maintaining the elegance and craftsmanship that distinguish Rizzuti’s style.

The public will be able to discover the first creations of the new concept from December 6 to 8, during the Mercatini del Gusto in Piazza del Campo, where a preview of some specialties created specifically for the event will be presented.

In 2026, other Bigè locations are scheduled to open in Milan, Florence, and Palermo.

“With Bigè,” says Luca Leonardi, corporate retail director for Italy at FaroAlto S.p.A., “we are taking an important step in the evolution of the group. Romualdo Rizzuti brings a gastronomic vision that combines research, identity, and accessibility, perfectly in line with our development objectives. This collaboration reinforces our desire to create original formats and promote Italian excellence in projects destined to grow both in Italy and abroad.“

Bigè is a project born from the desire to introduce an idea of contemporary Neapolitan pizza that combines tradition, technique, excellent raw materials, and identity. A recognizable, deeply artisanal pizza. The menu will recount this journey through carefully studied doughs, made with a selection of high-quality artisanal flours, ingredients, and combinations designed to showcase the excellence of the territory and the Italian supply chain. This opening is just the beginning of a series of new openings in Italy and, looking to the future, also at an international level,” adds Romualdo Rizzuti.
