A unique exhibition: Italy’s economic boom revived in Naples
Open until Wednesday, January 7, 2026, the historic Sala degli Specchi (Hall of Mirrors) at the Grand Hotel Parker’s is transformed into an immersive journey through the Italy that made the world dream. An extraordinary exhibition that brings together cult objects, design icons, and works of art dedicated to the absolute protagonists of a unique era.
The Grand Hotel Parker’s pays tribute to Italian creative genius by hosting a selection of masterpieces from the private collections of Mario Iossa, Claudio Lancellotti, and Michelangelo Iossa, presented exclusively for the hotel. The exhibition celebrates the golden years of design, Fellini’s cinema, and Italian style, recreating the sophisticated and luminous atmosphere that made La Dolce Vita famous throughout the world.
Pieces awarded the Compasso d’Oro, symbols of Italian modernity and elegance, interact with iconic objects of the era, including:
- the Zerowatt VE505 table fan by Ezio Pirali (Compasso d’Oro 1954)
- the famous Grillo telephone by Marco Zanuso and Richard Sapper (Compasso d’Oro 1967)
- the Olivetti Lettera 22 and Lettera 32 typewriters
- the legendary Ericofon, known as the “Cobra Telephone,” now in the MoMA in New York
- vintage radios, record players, magazines, 45 rpm records
- a splendid 1960s Vespa Piaggio, an eternal emblem of Italian freedom and style.
An exhibition that tells the story of a world
The exhibition is divided into “thematic corners” that recreate the vibrant atmosphere of the 1950s and 1960s:
a Via Veneto-style table with Scooby-Doo chairs; a section dedicated to the genius of Federico Fellini; a set design with a vintage Vespa that captures the essence of Roman nights.
Completing the visual journey are movie posters, everyday objects that have become symbols of timeless aesthetics, and a selection of original autographs of icons of the era, including a rare autograph by Gina Lollobrigida.

Also on display are portraits of Marcello Mastroianni and Sophia Loren, together with the work “La Vespa,” signed by Maestro Domenico Sepe. The Grand Hotel Parker’s awarded the artist the special plaque “Grand Hotel Parker’s for Art,” recognizing his deep connection with the Avallone family and the hotel.
A celebration of Italian identity

This is how Giovanni Torre Avallone, Maître de Maison and Chief Experience Officer, describes the origin of the exhibition: a tribute to the great protagonists—Neapolitan and otherwise—who have shaped the Italian collective imagination with art, style, and passion.
The exhibition aims to recapture the spirit of an era that influenced the world: La Dolce Vita as a way of living, creating and imagining the future.
