This concludes our journey through the Cantine Etiche. Because there are places that seem to have been created to embrace beauty. Not the kind that is immediately apparent, but the kind that reveals itself slowly, like a landscape that disappears and reappears among the hills.
Villa Bucher is one such place: an elegant, bright estate, deeply Umbrian but with an international soul, which completes the mosaic of the Cantine Etiche with balance and charm.
We are located between Perugia and Montefalco, in an area that breathes light and silence, where vineyards meet the art of hospitality and where every detail seems designed to interact with the landscape.
Villa Bucher is a destination that surprises with its ability to be contemporary without straying from its roots: a perfect synthesis between rural tradition and the aesthetics of new experiential wine tourism.
🌿 An estate designed as an experience
Villa Bucher does not just produce wine.
It tells its story.
It dresses it in elegance.
It accompanies it on a journey that goes beyond the glass and transforms it into an experience of place.
The architecture of the villa, modern yet respectful of the environment, is an invitation to tranquility: spacious rooms, natural light, noble materials, and windows that frame the countryside like a living painting.
The view glides over orderly rows of vines, manicured gardens, and open glimpses of the hills and the infinity pool, restoring an immediate and profound sense of balance.
Hospitality is an integral part of the estate’s philosophy: rooms and spaces designed to welcome guests in an intimate way, guided tastings amid art and nature, walks through the vineyards, moments of relaxation that connect guests to the slow and harmonious rhythm of authentic Umbria.
It is a place that you don’t have to “see”:
you have to experience.
🍇 Wines of purity and elegance
While the atmosphere impresses with its grace, it is the wine that completes the enchantment.
Villa Bucher produces wines with a strong yet refined character, the result of careful, sustainable, almost tailor-made production.
Each wine is a chapter in a coherent story:
- the Chardonnay, bright and fine, combines international sophistication and Umbrian delicacy;
- the Rosso Riserva, intense and deep, preserves the spirit of the territory with a complexity that slowly wins you over;
Hans Bucher, founder of Villa Bucher and a great lover of Bordeaux wines, decided to plant Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon for the reds and Chardonnay and Sauvignon for the whites (as well as a small plot of Grechetto that no one knows how the winemaker managed to include). Some time later, he discovered that the soil on the hill was volcanic and that there was a reason why the chosen vines harmonized so well with the characteristics of the soil.
“The unconventional decision to plant Cabernet Franc as the main grape variety on the volcanic soil hill around Villa Bucher proved to be a winning one. The results are very good, with wines that are harmonious and not harsh in their youth. The use of Cabernet Franc for red, rosé, and even a small amount for our new sparkling wine ‘LUS’ makes it the backbone of our production.” Oliver Bucher
The philosophy is clear: uncompromising quality, respect for the fruit, and promotion of the territory.
The role of Villa Bucher in Cantine Etiche
Within the Cantine Etiche project, Villa Bucher is the voice that looks far ahead.
It is the stage that opens up to the outside world, dialoguing with the world while keeping its gaze on the Umbrian landscape.
It brings to the network a sense of international hospitality, aesthetic care, and refined research.
The suspended poetry of the Tenuta dei Mori,
the silent nobility of the Marchesi Ruffo della Scaletta,
the rural sincerity of Collespino,
the luminous vision of Santo Iolo,
and the international elegance of Villa Bucher… proving that Umbria can be contemporary and cosmopolitan without losing its authenticity.
It is the place where the project finds its most open, luminous, and scenic dimension.
A stop that completes the journey with a broad, elegant, and harmonious breath.
🌿
Leaving Villa Bucher behind, with the soft light falling on the vineyards in our eyes and the elegance of a sip that speaks of the future on our palates, the journey through the Cantine Etiche comes to its natural conclusion.
Four stages, four souls, four different ways of describing the same land.
And it is precisely in this variety—in this different way of telling the same truth—that the strength of the Cantine Etiche project lies.
A network that unites not only companies, but sensibilities, stories, landscapes, and values.
Now the journey can come to an end, but what remains is an invisible thread that holds everything together:
wine as language, territory as identity, ethics as promise.
🍷 Umbria that chooses to be…
The Umbria of the Cantine Etiche is an Umbria that is not content with being beautiful: it wants to be consistent.
It wants the act of making wine to become an act of culture, responsibility, and collaboration.
Today, the Cantine Etiche project represents a model of cooperation, sustainability, and territorial enhancement.
A journey that unites different excellences in a single vision, restoring Umbria’s role as a virtuous laboratory in the Italian wine scene.
An invitation to discover, choose, and support a wine that is not only quality but also responsibility.
A wine that speaks of the future.
On this journey, the traveler not only tastes, visits, and observes: they participate.
They become part of a bigger story, made up of vineyards that breathe, families who believe in the land, places that speak with sincerity.
And when, at the end of the journey, the last glass is raised, there is only one feeling:
that Umbria, after all, has a rare gift.
It knows how to unite you.
It knows how to change you.
It knows how to stay.
Five wineries.
Five souls.
One heart: Umbria that believes in the value of “us.”
Cantine Etiche is not a project: it is a gesture.
It is the choice to remain faithful to the land and, at the same time, to look ahead together.
And as the last sip fades on your lips, one realization remains:
that the future of wine is not individual.
It is shared.
Thank you, Umbria.
