From India to New York, Buenos Aires, Istanbul, Brazil, Manchester, and La Sapienza University in Rome, there have been many invitations to teach courses and give lectures. And in the coming months, Dr. Tedesco will explain and teach his innovative technique.

A source of pride for Italy, Dr. Andrea Tedesco, a Florentine implantologist, has been involved for years in implant-prosthetic rehabilitation, especially in complex cases and mainly in the innovative evolution of dental implantology.

Dr. Tedesco has developed a new surgical protocol, which he calls the “Minimally Invasive Zygomatic Technique TZMI,” consisting of new inserts dedicated to zygomatic surgery and an approach that makes the steps extremely controlled and easy to manage, which has been hugely successful.

In 2023, he founded the first Italian Society of Zygomatic and Pterygoid Implantology, and his latest great achievement is the founding of the Zygomatic Implants World Academy, the first World Society of Zygomatic Implantology, which has attracted incredible interest from many colleagues around the world.

On June 28, in Lecce, in the Salento region, the most important event in Italy on this topic took place: the IV ZYGOMA DAY, an international conference now in its fourth edition. During this event, Dr. Tedesco received an important award from Professor Francesco Schittulli, National President of the Italian League for the Fight against Cancer (LILT). The award was given for his years of work in researching new techniques for those suffering from severe maxillary atrophy and for devising a new, less invasive technique using piezoelectric instruments. In addition to creating a Level II Master’s Degree in Zygomatic Implantology at the University of Pisa, he has designed a zygomatic implant, a dedicated surgical instrument kit, and finally, he has created the first World Society of Zygomatic Implantology based in Italy.

Today, the technique developed by Tedesco is in demand all over the world, with prestigious invitations for courses and surgical procedures in New York, Buenos Aires, Istanbul, Brazil, Manchester, and at La Sapienza University in Rome.

It is a great pleasure for me to give these courses and perform these surgeries where I can explain my technique. The first of these events will be in New York again for a fantastic course on September 24-25, 2025,” announces Dr. Tedesco, “where we will talk about a new Piezosurgery approach, a new protocol, and new inserts for safe and accurate implantology, even for advanced cases. There will be a practical session where participants can practice and some live surgical procedures. Then I will be in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in November, followed by Istanbul, England, Brazil, and La Sapienza University in Rome.”

Research continues at the University of Pisa, where he is a professor/tutor for the Level II Master’s Degree in Zygomatic Implantology, with procedures on compromised patients.

With the founding of the Zygomatic Implants World Academy, Italy has established itself as a global center of excellence for training, research, and development in zygomatic implantology.

This is a significant achievement that highlights the contribution of Italian dental schools on the international scene and promises to offer new therapeutic opportunities to patients around the world.

All this represents a significant turning point for the sector, not only because of the extremely high scientific level of the new surgical protocol, but also because of the formal recognition of Tedesco’s pioneering work, which is destined to leave its mark on oral surgery in the future.
