Information is a primary lever of democracy: it guarantees pluralism, fuels public debate, strengthens citizens’ awareness, and protects freedom of choice. Every new voice that emerges on the publishing scene contributes to making the country’s democratic fabric more solid and vital.
It is in this context that ITabloid, the new digital magazine conceived and promoted by the Italian Women Journalists Association, has made its online debut. Its launch has been widely welcomed by the political world, across the board, from Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni to the secretary of the Democratic Party Elly Schlein, and many other politicians, ministers, and undersecretaries.
It was a lively debut for a publication designed by information professionals and aimed at those who want to delve deeper, going beyond the logic of quick and superficial news.
“With ITabloid, we want to highlight the skills and experience of our members,” explains the association’s president, Paola Ferrazzoli. “The project focuses on professionalism and creativity, offering a view of reality that is attentive to social repercussions and the many nuances of phenomena.”
Editor-in-chief Mikaela Zanzi emphasizes the goal of growing the publication by experimenting with new digital languages, from podcasts to multimedia features, with innovative content that engages and stimulates reflection. Editor-in-chief Elisabetta Mancini is on the same wavelength, highlighting how ITabloid does not want to be a simple news container, but a dynamic space where current affairs, economics, culture, politics, work, and the environment are treated with rigor and responsibility, fueling debate and curiosity.
An independent project open to different contributions, ITabloid aims to build a community of informed readers and has received numerous messages of appreciation, including from the Minister for Family and Equal Opportunities, Eugenia Roccella, who described ITabloid as a feminine, professional, and lively voice. The president of the Femicide Commission, Martina Semenzato, highlighted the value of plurality of information for democracy, while MP Cristina Almici reiterated the importance of appropriate language and cultural approach in reporting on gender-based violence.
A message of encouragement also came from Senate President Ignazio La Russa, who highlighted how a new editorial project based on preparation and punctuality is always a positive sign.
Designed by information professionals, ITabloid is aimed at those who want to go beyond the logic of ‘hit and run’ news, offering an in-depth account of reality. The goal is to enhance skills and experience, with a keen eye on the social impact of phenomena and their many nuances.
The publication aims to combine professionalism and creativity, experimenting with new digital formats—from podcasts to multimedia insights—to offer content that not only informs but also engages and stimulates reflection. It is not just a container for news, but a dynamic space where current affairs, economics, culture, politics, work, and the environment are addressed with rigor, responsibility, and a critical eye.
ITabloid is an independent project, open to different contributions, with the ambition of building a community of informed and curious readers.
The numerous messages of congratulations received from institutions highlighted several key concepts: the value of pluralism in information as a guarantee for democracy; the courage needed to launch a new publishing project today; the importance of a competent and independent approach, especially on sensitive issues such as gender equality, violence against women, and the cultural representation of social phenomena.
It was also emphasized that the birth of a new publication is always good news for freedom, particularly when it aims to offer in-depth analysis and quality, far from the superficiality and speed (and fake news) that often characterize contemporary information.
At a time when everything moves quickly and often superficially, choosing to stop, delve deeper, and listen becomes an act of responsibility.
This is how ITabloid was born: as a space for freedom, competence, and passion. Because every word written with rigor is not only information, but a gesture of care towards democracy and those who live it every day.
