“La scuola analphabetica del Biagioli” (Biagioli’s illiterate school): solo exhibition by international artist Filippo Biagioli at the Nisolina Art Space Gallery – Lu e Cuccaro Monferrato (Al)
Saturday, October 4, 11 a.m., on the occasion of the 21st Contemporary Art Day, promoted by A.M.A.C.I la Nisolina Art Space, which intends to dedicate a retrospective exhibition to the career of the international artist, exhibiting some works from different periods of his artistic production; most of which belong to the analphabetica art group, and a smaller section that introduces us to his second nickname – famous to a select audience – Novies Lucens, which reveals his activity as an esoteric artist.
The term analphabeta is used when she creates paintings, whether on canvas or on walls, through an immediate approach and great expressive freedom, unbound by the preconceptions and rules of common childhood representation belonging to the period when man has not yet been “educated” in the rules of our society. The representations are inspired by scenes from everyday life that overlap and mix together in a continuous flow of consciousness, thoughts, phrases, symbols, and words, through the use of instinctive painting, characterized by large areas of color, unconnected to each other, deliberately anti-aesthetic and unreal.
Broad lines of demarcation delimit the perimeter, as if to create an invisible barrier between the artist and the world around him. Words, phrases, and symbols become integral parts of his works, interacting with each other and cooperating in the creation of the artwork, shaking the viewer out of the torpor of everyday life by making a social statement full of irony and sarcasm. By combining symbols and traditions that are distant from each other, the artist presents them to us in a spontaneous way, allowing us to reevaluate demonized archetypal symbols, which are returned to us with their original meaning.
The exhibition entitled “La scuola analfabeta del Biagioli” (Biagioli’s illiterate school) aims to be an opportunity to ask questions, scrutinize the world around us, and reevaluate the past through a current of thought free from our society and the stereotypes that govern it. The Nisolina Gallery invites you to become an active part in the creation of this “flash mob”: sudden, unexpected, and spectacular. The opening will be attended by the artist’s curator, Dr. Sofia Ancilotti, international artist Fillippo Biagioli, and the owner of the space and organizer of the event, Albina Dealessi.
With the patronage of the municipality of Lu e Cuccaro Monferrato (AL), Pro Loco Luese e Cuccarese.
