Behind every biscuit there is a story. That of Anna Manfredi, the legendary Masardona, who in the post-war period fried pizzas in front of her house for her neighborhood and, at Christmas, prepared Roccocò for everyone: hard to bite into, fragrant with honey and spices, to be dipped in Marsala or Strega.
Today, her grandson Enzo Piccirillo, together with his sons Salvatore and Cristiano, renews that same magic with the care and skill of yesteryear. The ingredients remain the same: flour, honey, sugar, toasted almonds, candied fruit, and the famous pisto — the Neapolitan blend of cinnamon, cloves, star anise, pepper, and coriander that gives the dessert its unmistakable soul.
