In Viale Montenero, in the heart of Milan, the third location of Regrub, a well-known destination for fast food lovers who want to enjoy an excellent smash burger, comes to life.
The project, entirely designed by Pelizzari Studio, is an urban retreat that celebrates industrial aesthetics: a minimalist, material-focused, deeply authentic space.
The composition of the spaces has been studied in minute detail, with cement-finished walls and ceilings that interact with a continuous floor, creating a compact and immersive atmosphere.
At the center of the room stand two monumental elements that immediately declare the identity of the venue. A monolithic counter extends like a sculpted mass, while a large burnished arch, four meters high, dominates the scene like a theatrical portal.
The space is characterized by a long modular stainless steel bench, accompanied by a headboard of leather cushions suspended by ropes screwed to the wall.
Opposite, a constellation of steel tables, each with a different shape, introduces a lively and deliberately irregular rhythm. The stools, some in black wood and others covered with garbage bags and packing tape, bring with them an ironic and provocative note, perfectly consistent with the overall mood of the venue. All the furnishings are designed to be changeable: the stools can be hidden under the bench, freeing up the room and making it more spacious and flexible for events.
The carefully considered lighting creates an underground atmosphere: two steel profiles on the back wall house spotlights that create contrasts and depth. The other lights, carefully designed, generate a warm and enveloping brightness, enriching the character of the space.
In the hallway and bathroom, a perforated false ceiling reveals the building’s industrial soul.
A mirrored wall houses a natural iron sink with a hidden drain, while a glass cutout in the wall offers a glimpse into the kitchen, providing an intimate window into the “behind the scenes.”
Through the design vision of Pelizzari Studio, Regrub recounts Milan with its most urban and sincere soul: a place where matter becomes narrative and where space is designed to continuously transform and reinvent itself.
