The author’s voice
“The idea for this book,” says Roncacci, “came about when I realized that, in my professional life, I had been masculinizing myself to appear more credible. That was a mistake. Feminine characteristics should be celebrated, not hidden.
I had never thought about writing a book, but when the proposal came and I recognized the opportunity to give it meaning, I accepted. I wanted it to have a specific purpose for the reader. My life is only a tool for addressing historical, political, and social issues that affect everyone.”
Who is Marzia Roncacci
A well-known face on Italian television, she graduated in Literature and Philosophy from La Sapienza University in Rome and began her career in radio as a correspondent for RDS Network.
At Rai, she worked in the domestic, foreign, and economic-trade union departments, covering major events as a correspondent. She was a presenter on Tg2 and now hosts Tg2 Italia Europa, broadcast every morning on Rai2.
In 2019, she took part in the program Ballando con le Stelle (Dancing with the Stars), paired with Samuel Peron, and has been a guest and commentator on numerous Rai programs. She has received awards such as the Media Price (2009), the Premio Comunicazione e Salute (Communication and Health Award) (2010), and the Premio Personalità Europea (European Personality Award) (2013).
