There is a place in the heart of Florence where autumn smells of wood, wine, and sincere conversation. It is The Kitchen & The Bar, the restaurant at THE PLACE Florence, overlooking Piazza Santa Maria Novella: a space that has made craftsmanship and gathering its language.
There is something universal about saying “thank you.” It is a gesture that transcends languages, cultures, and generations.
The Kitchen & The Bar celebrates it in its own way, bringing the magic of Thanksgiving Day to the heart of Florence.
Imagine the golden light filtering through the windows of Piazza Santa Maria Novella, the aroma of turkey mingling with Tuscan wine, voices lowering as the dishes arrive at the table.
Each course is an autumn story: polenta that smells of wood, warming pumpkin cream, crispy rigatino reminiscent of family kitchens.
And then, as American tradition dictates, the Thanksgiving turkey: whole, sumptuous, served on a platter, accompanied by smiles and that silent gratitude that unites people.
It is a day when Tuscan elegance embraces the American spirit, and every detail—from wine to dessert—becomes an invitation to share, to remember, to give thanks.
A lunch or dinner to rediscover the true meaning of the holiday: not only what you have, but who you are with.
Imagine spending Thanksgiving in Florence.
Amidst the lights reflecting off the marble, the scent of wine, and laughter filling the air.
A moment that no longer belongs to a country, but to the heart.
Every day, from the early morning until after dinner, this corner of contemporary elegance welcomes travelers, Florentines, and friends passing through in a rhythm made up of authentic gestures and flavors that tell stories.
But it is with the arrival of autumn that The Kitchen & The Bar reveals its truest soul: one that intertwines conviviality, culture, and solidarity.
Three dates, three opportunities to come together around what matters: the beauty of doing, the memory of taste, the power of sharing.

October 29 – Friends of The Place of Wonders
The season opens with a special evening dedicated to the Friends of The Place of Wonders Foundation, created to support and pass on Italy’s artisan heritage.
From 6 to 8 p.m., the aperitif at The Kitchen & The Bar becomes a sensory journey into the hands and stories of those who transform materials into art:
- Matteo 1To1, the 3.0 shoemaker who crafts custom sneakers as if they were works of art.
- Mannori, guardian of a mortadella that smells of childhood and territory.
- La Leccia, a Chianti winery that produces organic wines with character, such as its Rubedo Pas Dosé.
Between glasses, tastings, and stories, the aperitif curated by chef Asso Migliore will be a tribute to the uniqueness of craftsmanship. The contribution of €35 per person will be donated entirely to the Foundation, transforming each toast into a gesture of concrete beauty.
November 27 – Thanksgiving Day: Florence-style thanksgiving
There is something universal about saying “thank you.” It is a gesture that transcends cultures, traditions, and tables.
The Kitchen & The Bar interprets it with Italian grace in its Thanksgiving Day on Thursday, November 27: an event that combines the warm atmosphere of American homes with Tuscan refinement.
The menu created by Asso Migliore is an autumn tale:
seared polenta, artichoke mousse and crispy rigatino,
Mantua pumpkin cream with Mugello goat cheese,
and of course the Thanksgiving turkey, stuffed and served on a platter, as tradition dictates.
To finish, apple and pumpkin pie with cinnamon ice cream and a glass of Montellori Pas Dosé.
A lunch or dinner to return to the true meaning of the holiday: gratitude.
Because sometimes, giving thanks is already a way of loving.
December 11 – The last toast with the Friends of The Place of Wonders
In December, the Florentine autumn will come to a close with a new evening dedicated to the “Friends of The Place of Wonders”.An aperitif that will bring together new artisans and producers, once again accompanied by the creations of The Kitchen & The Bar.
An event designed to support the Foundation and to remind us that beauty, when shared, becomes community.
An invitation to beauty and sharing
Imagine spending Thanksgiving in Florence.
Outside, the air is crisp, while inside, voices mingle with the aroma of turkey and pumpkin.
Toasts, glances, hands brushing against each other above a table lit by candles.
And for a moment, wherever you are, you feel at home.
With these three evenings, The Kitchen & The Bar renews its most authentic vocation: to be not just a restaurant, but a meeting point for people, stories, and values.
Here, craftsmanship is not just a slogan, but a living experience: one that flows between handmade porcelain, carefully poured wine, and a conversation that lingers.
The The Place of Wonders Foundation, born from the vision of the Babini family and led by Michela Canzi Babini with the inspiration of Claudio Meli, continues to transform solidarity into opportunity: more than 35 scholarships already funded, to give back to the future the wonder of know-how.
In a fast-paced world, The Kitchen & The Bar chooses to slow down.
To listen.
To remember that every gesture, if done with artistry, can become a gift.
